To introduce someone you use 位 and never 个: 这位是小刘. 个 would not be rude, it would be flat, as if you were pointing at an object. 位 also counts customers and guests: 几位, how many are you, is a waiter's first sentence. You do not, however, use it of yourself: 我是一位老师 sounds pretentious.
小刘 is not a given name: it is 小 placed before the surname 刘, for a colleague younger than you or the same age. The device has its counterpart for elders, 老刘, which is in no way disrespectful. Between the two, the word order does not change and the given name is never used: in an office people go by their surname.
跟 A 一样 states equality: 跟大家一样, the same as everyone. You can hang an adjective on it, 跟他一样高, as tall as him, and negate it with 不一样. The neighbouring construction 跟…比 is for comparing, but 一样 says there is nothing to compare, which makes it the phrase for politely refusing a privilege.
