The Tibetan script, and why a name looks like that
Tibetan is written in an alphabet of its own, created in the seventh century on an Indian model and still used for Tibetan and for Dzongkha, the language of Bhutan. It hangs from a horizontal line at the top of the letters, like Devanagari, and its syllables are built by stacking: a base consonant with vowels and further consonants written above and below it, so a syllable is a small block rather than a row.
That stacking is why a transliterated name can look far more compact than it sounds. A syllable that takes four Latin letters may be one dense cluster in Tibetan, and the shape of the cluster carries the reading.
One thing to expect, and it applies to every script on this site: the result is your name written with Tibetan letters, not a Tibetan name. It reads as a foreign name to a Tibetan speaker, which is exactly what you want if the point is that your name be recognisable.
