The red stamp, and what it stands for
The red mark in the corner of a Chinese painting is a seal, and it is not decoration: it is a signature, and historically it had the force of one. Officials sealed documents, artists sealed works, collectors added their own seal to a painting they had owned, which is why an old scroll can carry a dozen of them. They are still used today on contracts and by companies, where a seal outranks a handwritten signature.
The script inside is usually seal script, the oldest form still in use, whose angular shapes are deliberately archaic and often unreadable to someone who has not studied it. That is part of the point: a seal is meant to be recognised as a whole rather than read letter by letter, and the archaism gives it its authority.
The red is cinnabar paste rather than ink, which is why the colour is so particular and why it has lasted on paper for centuries. The generator here writes your name in that form, as an image you can save.
