| 1 | 所罗门与埃及王法老结亲，娶了法老的女儿为妻，接她进入大卫城，直等到造完了自己的宫和耶和华的殿，并耶路撒冷周围的城墙。 | And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about. |
| 2 | 当那些日子，百姓仍在丘坛献祭，因为还没有为耶和华的名建殿。 | Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days. |
| 3 | 所罗门爱耶和华，遵行他父亲大卫的律例，只是还在丘坛献祭烧香。 | And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. |
| 4 | 所罗门王上基遍去献祭。因为在那里有极大的丘坛（极大或作出名），他在那坛上献一千牺牲作燔祭。 | And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. |
| 5 | 在基遍，夜间梦中，耶和华向所罗门显现，对他说，你愿我赐你什么。你可以求。 | In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. |
| 6 | 所罗门说，你仆人我父亲大卫用诚实，公义，正直的心行在你面前，你就向他大施恩典，又为他存留大恩，赐他一个儿子坐在他的位上，正如今日一样。 | And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. |
| 7 | 耶和华我的神阿，如今你使仆人接续我父亲大卫作王。但我是幼童，不知道应当怎样出入。 | And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. |
| 8 | 仆人住在你所拣选的民中，这民多得不可胜数。 | And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. |
| 9 | 所以求你赐我智慧，可以判断你的民，能辨别是非。不然，谁能判断这众多的民呢？ | Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? |
| 10 | 所罗门因为求这事，就蒙主喜悦。 | And the speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing. |
| 11 | 神对他说，你既然求这事，不为自己求寿，求富，也不求灭绝你仇敌的性命，单求智慧可以听讼， | And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; |
| 12 | 我就应允你所求的，赐你聪明智慧，甚至在你以前没有象你的，在你以后也没有象你的。 | Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. |
| 13 | 你所没有求的，我也赐给你，就是富足，尊荣，使你在世的日子，列王中没有一个能比你的。 | And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. |
| 14 | 你若效法你父亲大卫，遵行我的道，谨守我的律例，诫命，我必使你长寿。 | And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days. |
| 15 | 所罗门醒了，不料是个梦。他就回到耶路撒冷，站在耶和华的约柜前，献燔祭和平安祭，又为他众臣仆设摆筵席。 | And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants. |
| 16 | 一日，有两个妓女来，站在王面前。 | Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him. |
| 17 | 一个说，我主阿，我和这妇人同住一房。她在房中的时候，我生了一个男孩。 | And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house. |
| 18 | 我生孩子后第三日，这妇人也生了孩子。我们是同住的，除了我们二人之外，房中再没有别人。 | And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. |
| 19 | 夜间，这妇人睡着的时候，压死了她的孩子。 | And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it. |
| 20 | 她半夜起来，趁我睡着，从我旁边把我的孩子抱去，放在她怀里，将她的死孩子放在我怀里。 | And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. |
| 21 | 天要亮的时候，我起来要给我的孩子吃奶，不料，孩子死了。及至天亮，我细细地察看，不是我所生的孩子。 | And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear. |
| 22 | 那妇人说，不然，活孩子是我的，死孩子是你的。这妇人说，不然，死孩子是你的，活孩子是我的。她们在王面前如此争论。 | And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king. |
| 23 | 王说，这妇人说活孩子是我的，死孩子是你的，那妇人说不然，死孩子是你的，活孩子是我的， | Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. |
| 24 | 就吩咐说，拿刀来。人就拿刀来。 | And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. |
| 25 | 王说，将活孩子劈成两半，一半给那妇人，一半给这妇人。 | And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. |
| 26 | 活孩子的母亲为自己的孩子心里急痛，就说，求我主将活孩子给那妇人吧，万不可杀他。那妇人说，这孩子也不归我，也不归你，把他劈了吧。 | Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it. |
| 27 | 王说，将活孩子给这妇人，万不可杀他。这妇人实在是他的母亲。 | Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. |
| 28 | 以色列众人听见王这样判断，就都敬畏他。因为见他心里有神的智慧，能以断案。 | And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment. |
