| 1 | 恶人虽无人追赶也逃跑,义人却胆壮像狮子。 | The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. |
| 2 | 邦国因有罪过,君王就多更换。因有聪明知识的人,国必长存。 | For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged. |
| 3 | 穷人欺压贫民,好像暴雨冲没粮食。 | A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food. |
| 4 | 违弃律法的,夸奖恶人。遵守律法的,却与恶人相争。 | They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. |
| 5 | 坏人不明白公义。惟有寻求耶和华的,无不明白。 | Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things. |
| 6 | 行为纯正的穷乏人,胜过行事乖僻的富足人。 | Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. |
| 7 | 谨守律法的是智慧之子。与贪食人作伴的,却羞辱其父。 | Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father. |
| 8 | 人以厚利加增财物,是给那怜悯穷人者积蓄的。 | He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor. |
| 9 | 转耳不听律法的,他的祈祷也为可憎。 | He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. |
| 10 | 诱惑正直人行恶道的,必掉在自己的坑里。惟有完全人,必承受福分。 | Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession. |
| 11 | 富足人自以为有智慧。但聪明的贫穷人,能将他查透。 | The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out. |
| 12 | 义人得志有大荣耀。恶人兴起人就躲藏。 | When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden. |
| 13 | 遮掩自己罪过的,必不亨通。承认离弃罪过的,必蒙怜恤。 | He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. |
| 14 | 常存敬畏的,便为有福。心存刚硬的,必陷在祸患里。 | Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief. |
| 15 | 暴虐的君王辖制贫民。好像吼叫的狮子,觅食的熊。 | As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people. |
| 16 | 无知的君多行暴虐。以贪财为可恨的,必年长日久。 | The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days. |
| 17 | 背负流人血之罪的,必往坑里奔跑,谁也不可拦阻他。 | A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him. |
| 18 | 行动正直的,必蒙拯救。行事弯曲的,立时跌倒。 | Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. |
| 19 | 耕种自己田地的,必得饱食。追随虚浮的,足受穷乏。 | He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. |
| 20 | 诚实人必多得福,想要急速发财的,不免受罚。 | A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. |
| 21 | 看人的情面,乃为不好。人因一块饼枉法,也为不好。 | To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress. |
| 22 | 人有恶眼想要急速发财,却不知穷乏必临到他身。 | He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him. |
| 23 | 责备人的,后来蒙人喜悦,多于那用舌头谄媚人的。 | He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue. |
| 24 | 偷窃父母的,说,这不是罪。此人就是与强盗同类。 | Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer. |
| 25 | 心中贪婪的,挑起争端。倚靠耶和华的,必得丰裕。 | He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat. |
| 26 | 心中自是的,便是愚昧人。凭智慧行事的,必蒙拯救。 | He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. |
| 27 | 周济贫穷的,不致缺乏。佯为不见的,必多受咒诅。 | He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. |
| 28 | 恶人兴起,人就躲藏。恶人败亡,义人增多。 | When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase. |
