| 1 | 智慧子听父亲的教训。亵慢人不听责备。 | A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke. |
| 2 | 人因口所结的果子，必享美福。奸诈人必遭强暴。 | A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence. |
| 3 | 谨守口的，得保生命。大张嘴的，必致败亡。 | He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. |
| 4 | 懒惰人羡慕，却无所得。殷勤人必得丰裕。 | The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. |
| 5 | 义人恨恶谎言。恶人有臭名，且致惭愧。 | A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame. |
| 6 | 行为正直的，有公义保守。犯罪的被邪恶倾覆。 | Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner. |
| 7 | 假作富足的，却一无所有。装作穷乏的，却广有财物。 | There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. |
| 8 | 人的赀财，是他生命的赎价。穷乏人却听不见威吓的话。 | The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. |
| 9 | 义人的光明亮。（明亮原文作欢喜）恶人的灯要熄灭。 | The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. |
| 10 | 骄傲只启争竞。听劝言的，却有智慧。 | Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. |
| 11 | 不劳而得之财，必然消耗。勤劳积蓄的，必见加增。 | Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. |
| 12 | 所盼望的迟延未得，令人心忧。所愿意的临到，却是生命树。 | Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. |
| 13 | 藐视训言的，自取灭亡。敬畏诫命的，必得善报。 | Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded. |
| 14 | 智慧人的法则，（或作指教）是生命的泉源，可以使人离开死亡的网罗。 | The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. |
| 15 | 美好的聪明，使人蒙恩。奸诈人的道路，崎岖难行。 | Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. |
| 16 | 凡通达人都凭知识行事。愚昧人张扬自己的愚昧。 | Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly. |
| 17 | 奸恶的使者，必陷在祸患里。忠信的使臣，乃医人的良药。 | A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health. |
| 18 | 弃绝管教的，必致贫受辱。领受责备的，必得尊荣。 | Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured. |
| 19 | 所欲的成就，心觉甘甜。远离恶事，为愚昧人所憎恶。 | The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil. |
| 20 | 与智慧人同行的，必得智慧。和愚昧人作伴的，必受亏损。 | He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. |
| 21 | 祸患追赶罪人。义人必得善报。 | Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed. |
| 22 | 善人给子孙遗留产业。罪人为义人积存赀财。 | A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. |
| 23 | 穷人耕种多得粮食，但因不义有消灭的。 | Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment. |
| 24 | 不忍用杖打儿子的，是恨恶他。疼爱儿子的，随时管教。 | He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. |
| 25 | 义人吃得饱足。恶人肚腹缺粮。 | The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want. |
