Learn to Build Sentences in Chinese
This tool is both an English to Chinese translator and a generator of simple Mandarin sentences. With it you will learn to put together, easily and by yourself, the basic sentences you need to express yourself in Chinese. A FEW RULES OF GRAMMAR
- In Chinese, simple sentences are built like this:
Subject + Time + Verb 1 + Verb 2 + Object
- To turn the sentence into a question, all you have to do is add "吗?" (ma) at the end.
- To make it negative, put "不" (bù) in front of verb 1 — except when that verb is "有" ("to have"), which takes "没" instead.
- When the time is in the past, add "了" (le) after verb 1 or at the end of the sentence.
